Introduction

We are a cooperation initiative of the companies RINGtech^® Renate Streuer and Unternehmer-Tun GmbH.

RINGtech^® Renate Streuer invented, patented and developed the ringweave technology. The current task is the patent management and international licence marketing.

The business aim of Unternehmer-Tun is consulting and support of innovation capacities in companies. In this context Unternehmer-Tun has accompanied the RINGtech^®-project from the beginning. Since january 2001 the development and testing of new applications as well as the marketing of the RINGtech^®-construction system has been continously pursued by Unternehmer-Tun.

In Mai 1997, we developed the RINGtech^®-process, a high-grade recycling method for used tyres. The idea is based on a new kind of web technology, which for the first time permits the weaving of closed rings, like the tread casings of used tyres. In this manner, strong, steel-reinforced rubber mats can be produced in different designs and in any size. Only shortly after that, we succeeded in assembling hollow bodies from the rubber webbing in any shape. Our production program consists of mats and hollow bodies which can be combined in any way. Due to their special properties, the individual elements are very suitable for use in many fields of construction. These elements comprise a unique construction system.

After applying for a patent in 1998 we discovered a variety of application potentials in geotechnical fields. Initially, we focussed our efforts on hydro construction. In this area, we developed a number of special building structures which have shown excellent results in tests and pilot projects. In our test projects, we co-operated with the Federal Institute for Hydro construction in order to prove the aptitude of our construction system for special marine applications. We also co-operate with the Federal institute for waters science and the Federal Institute for environmental affairs to prove the environmental compatibility of our products in waters.

Our current aim is to develop new applications, in which the Ringtech^®-system is superior to traditional building materials, products and structures – with regard to price and functionality.
